112 WEST TRINITY | ABOUT LARKE LOPEZ

Larke Lopez knew at a very young age that she wanted to be a hair stylist. This native Texan was the go-to, novice hair stylist in her neighborhood from the ripe old age of five. Her love of creative hair design led her to enrolling in cosmetology school while a sophomore in high school; graduating before her high school career ended. While most young teens her age were securing first jobs at fast food restaurants and retail stores, this young talent landed her first job alongside the most talented, supportive and genuine stylists in her area. 

Over her 30 years behind the chair, she has been with many salons, taking something from each of them that has helped make her the stylist she is today. She takes her passion seriously, stating, “Transforming someone’s hair not only changes the persons outward appearance but it changes the person on t the inside too. When you see a person look in the mirror after an altering hair style and see them smile, they carry themselves differently...confidently. That’s why I love my job.” 

Her love for the job and the desire to create a positive, family-style atmosphere; similar to her first salon experience, inspired her to mimic this same feeling in her own salon. “My best salon experience felt like I was with family, like I was at home. It brought a calmness and comfort that everyone should feel when they’re at their salon. That’s what I want to bring to 112 West Trinity.” 

Larke feels that family means also paving the way and creating a legacy for the future. Raising her daughter, Leighton, just a few blocks from the salon; she is investing in a successful future for both of them. “I have been in Forney for 16 years. I feel the people of Forney are family; this is my way of giving back to our wonderful, quaint little town and my daughter as well.”

Larke’s philosophy about people is that each is beautiful in their own way, and each on their own paths. She wants to inspire and support that in each person that sits in her salon chairs.
